The next Food Allergy Basics Course will be held Monday,
May 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the American Red Cross office, 196 South Fifth Street, Newark.
Sport Safety Training
Developed with the U.S.
Olympic Committee, this course features demonstrations and lectures that teach
sports-related first aid and injury prevention skills. Topics include specific
responses for breathing and cardiac emergencies; soft tissue and skeletal
injuries; and sudden illnesses. Optional adult/child CPR and AED (Automated
External Defibrillator) training is also available. Courses are updated to the
new 2005 guidelines.
We have scheduled our next Sports Safety
with Adult and Child CPR and AED training for Saturday, May 19th, at
Heath High School. CPR/AED will begin
promptly at 8:00 a.m. and Sports Safety will follow the CPR/AED training at
approximately 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Coaches can take both courses or
just one course. The fee for the Adult and Child CPR/AED training alone
is $30.00 including materials. The fee for the Sports Safety Training
alone is $45.00 including materials. The fee for both courses together
is $60.00 including materials. Participants will receive the newly
revised Sports Safety Handbook and Skills Cards for Adult and Child CPR/AED.
